The 1956 Rock’n Roll Dance took place this past Sunday, November 13th, in the gym. It was the first 50th Anniversary celebration event of the school year, and WHAT A WAY TO START!! Over 200 people came out; many dressed in 1950’s costumes, to join the fun. The gym was beautifully decorated by our wonderful parent volunteers. There was cotton candy, popcorn, pretzels, ice-cream sundaes, and lots of beverages to keep the dancers cool.
The committee co-chairs wish to thank the school and the PTA for co-sponsoring this event. Thank you to all the parent volunteers, the 8th grade girls, Inessa Abramov, Ayelet Pearl, Sharon Michilovich and Talia Pinto for expertly serving ice cream and drinks to the children, Hollywood DJ’s for providing us with the great music and energetic dancers to help keep us moving. A special thank you is extended to Mark Rahika of Sysco Food Services of Metropolitan New York for their most generous donation of juice, water, soda, pretzels, paper and plastic goods. And of course, thank you to all the families who came out to support this event. Look what can be accomplished when we all pull together!
