Thank you for your interest in the Solomon Schechter School of Queens. It’s such an exciting time to be part of our Schechter community.
We are dedicated to each student’s growth academically, socially and spiritually. Our faculty and staff are committed to giving personalized attention to each student, and to maintaining small class size. Children develop a love and appreciation of learning in an environment that encourages exploration, discovery and expression.
We have built a warm and welcoming community – everyone here is part of our “family”. The parent body is very involved in the Parent Teachers Association. From running the lunch program to planning the Purim carnival and holiday festivities, the PTA is invested in providing the best for our children. As you walk the hallways on Fridays, it is particularly exhilarating to see the children in blue and white in preparation for Shabbat. In fact, before each holiday there is a special energy felt throughout the school. Decorated bulletin boards, children singing, innovative teaching and learning is just a glimpse of what you will observe. We are not just a school, but a community where friendships between children and families are formed forever. Our children learn a love for Israel and the Jewish people through music, art and history. As a culmination of the Schechter education our eighth grade graduating class takes a trip to Israel.
