      About Our School

      Mission
      History
      Mission
A unique education unfolds at the Solomon Schechter School of Queens, a Conservative Jewish day school serving children from pre-school through eighth grade. Students engage actively in high level learning  in a comprehensive curriculum offering challenge alongside personalized support preparing them for success in high school, college, and careers.  They are immersed in modern Hebrew, delve into the wisdom of our Torah, and experience robust Jewish life. With pride in our multicultural and multilingual student body, united by our Jewish heritage, we support our children to embrace diversity with the strength and confidence acquired through a deep understanding of Judaism. Innovation, creativity, and service to others are hallmarks of our approach. We foster entrepreneurial problem-solving, community engagement, and compassionate global thinking. Building lifelong ties among our children and families, we inspire commitment to the American Jewish community, the United States, the modern State of Israel, and the wide world beyond.

      Our Continuing Legacy
We are proud to continue our legacy of leadership. The Solomon Schechter School of Queens along with support from a devoted team of Trustees helped in the formation of the Tri-State Schechter Consortium. Its purpose is to help strengthen and advance the profile of Schechter Day Schools and the affiliated movement institutions.  Our shared voices allow us to explore new models of collaborative leadership that benefit our mutual interests, which include (but are not limited to) marketing, financial sustainability, enrollment growth and fundraising.

See the results of our first successful project, the Schechter Consortium Brand Launch, which culminated in the renaming of the Solomon Schechter Day School Association to the Schechter Day School Network with an exciting vision for marketing and re-branding which has gone national.
