Library

The library at Solomon Schechter School of Queens is a newly refurbished facility housing approximately ten thousand volumes. The collection consists of both English and Hebrew language books for both Judaic and General Studies. Holdings are constantly being updated to keep information current. The contents of the library are available in the on-line catalog. This on-line catalog is accessible from within the library and remotely, from any computer. The catalog system is state of the art and shared by most other Jewish Day Schools in the New York area.
All students come to the library for weekly sessions. They are taught how to do research and find the information they want. With the library computers, they are guided in judicious use of the Internet. The Solomon Schecter Library serves as a model for students to learn how to use any library that they will find themselves in.
