A Schechter Education

The Conservative Jewish philosophy informs the mission and vision of the entire
Schechter Day School Network and every school within it.

We share the vision of an evolving American Judaism, firmly grounded in tradition while fully alive to the challenges of the moment.

Like the students we teach, we too are engaged in a great adventure of discovery, for that is the essence of a true education, an education for and about life.

A Schechter education:

Learn How to Think,
Discover Your Sense of Self,
Become a Global Jewish Citizen.

These three overarching goals form the roof of every school in the Schechter Day School Network

Beneath this roof, each school uniquely pursues the overarching goals in its own special ways:

Learn How to Think Discover Your Sense of Self Become a Global Jewish Citizen
At SSSQ we teach students to think by fostering character, leading them to ask their own meaningful questions about the world around them. From Bible to Biology, the emphasis is on scholarship and academic rigor in a fully immersive non-linear approach to learning. At SSSQ we help students discover themselves by encouraging curiosity and cultivating creativity. We provide the tools, framework and foundation to lead an authentic and exciting Jewish life, connecting our timeless morality with the burning issues of the day to forge identities of both principle and passion. At SSSQ we inspire students to become global Jewish citizens by treasuring community and an informed sense of the past. We illuminate a broad context within which every student can find his or her place in the American and Broader Jewish communities they belong to, and come to appreciate Israel and its importance.
